Schumacher Public Library

In collaboration with the Schumacher Arts, Culture and Heritage Association and the Schumacher Lions club, the TLIP helps to set up book boxes at strategic centers of the community where people can find a good read, information regarding the city, as well as donate books for others to read.

Taste of Timmins

The TLIP Partners with the Taste of Timmins Committee in collecting Recipes for the community cookbook. This committee celebrates heritage, diversity, and inclusion by publishing all cultural food recipes collected and sharing stories behind the recipes. These stories help in identifying our common values and enhancing community connections.

RCIP/FCIP

TLIP is part of the Rural Immigration Pilot steering committee, helping to facilitate the implementation of the RNIP/RCIP program for the past four years, hosting numerous information sessions for employers, international students, and bringing together community partners and employers to promote the benefits and pathways of immigration. helping to fill labor shortages with suitable skills to sustain the region’s economic vitality.

TADH DEISA-A

TLIP works in Partnership with the Timmins and District Hospital, diversity, equity, and inclusion committee to promote health equity and improve health care access to newcomers

Employer Council

In collaboration with this committee, TLIP helps in empowering local employers to effectively recruit and retain staff and shares relevant information to address regional employment challenges.

As we gather virtually, we acknowledge that those of us in Timmins are situated in Treaty 9 territory, steeped in rich Indigenous history and home to many First Nations, Metis and Inuit People today. We also acknowledge Mattagami First Nation, on whose traditional land we are meeting. We make this acknowledgement as a first step in fulfilling our responsibility to critically look at colonial histories and their impact on the present day.
